The Care Conundrum
Here, we will take you through the different stages of care and share real-life client stories so you can see how this works in practice.
[su_quote]The first thing to look for when searching for a great employee is somebody with a personality that fits with your company culture. Most skills can be learned, but it is difficult to train people on their personality. – Richard Branson [/su_quote]
Our latest members of the team have been with us less than six months and they are already making their Equilibrium mark. Having already passed the first of their diploma exams, they have even set their sights on a second exam pass by April 2024.

Leal Dewsnap
“This is my first role outside of university. Coming to Equilibrium after studying biomedicine, I thought nothing would be transferable to the role. However, although the work is completely different, there are skills that have helped me. The main one being time management and having the ability to spin multiple plates at once. This is something I developed at university, which enabled me to succeed in a difficult degree. This skill is massively important in this role (as I’m sure every client manager would agree) and without developing this at university, I think I would struggle to adapt.
“I really hope to become chartered in financial planning over the next few years and be able to take on more challenging work and responsibility at Equilibrium as the work and people are second to none.”

Lucy Brelsford-Blake
“I was looking for a new challenge when I first heard about the academy. At the time, I was working for a pensions provider and whilst I had a sense of trepidation about moving to a new company, I am so pleased I applied for this role as I am really enjoying it so far and it certainly plays to my strengths of being highly organized. When I joined, I was given the opportunity to meet with every department to learn how each team operates as well as the wider business. The atmosphere here is very positive, and everyone is so friendly and helpful.
“I am aiming to pass all my exams in the next 18 months but, in the meantime, I am just looking forward to settling in my role as a Client Manager and seeing what this exciting new chapter brings.”

Bianca Boren
“I have really enjoyed getting to grips with the new role since joining. It is more client facing than I expected which has been a pleasant surprise. The variety of what each client needs has been a learning curve and has made each meeting different. I came from a paralegal background, so I already had experience in client communication and report writing.
“Equilibrium is very culture-focused and prioritises the wellbeing of its staff which was a major factor when applying for the role. There are plenty of opportunities to progress here which has inspired me to continue my path of becoming a chartered financial planner.”

Jake Lambert
“My perception before joining was I thought that the office would be a very intense atmosphere. However, this was far from the case. So far, I have found it thoroughly enjoyable, and I can honestly say I do look forward to coming into the office every day. I believe this aspect has exceeded my expectation because a strong and enjoyable office culture was very important to me when joining a new company, and I am pleased with how well my first few months have gone.
“My values are very much aligned to Equilibrium. I’m committed to doing my job well and naturally go ‘that extra step’ to help people, whether that be our clients or my team.
“I have always worked hard throughout my life and enjoy gaining qualifications, so my aim is to become a chartered financial planner in the not-too-distant future. I also hope to become a valuable member of the team and somebody that my peers can turn to when they need any support or guidance.”
