Soul Kitchen and Offset Chester are both under the umbrella of Outside In, a homeless charity.
Soul Kitchen provides a weekly food, drink, clothing and support service for those that are homeless or suffering from poverty, addiction and/or mental health problems in Chester. Offset Chester aims to help and enable homeless people in temporary accommodation who are in active recovery from drugs and alcohol. The organisation helps to get people walking in the countryside on a weekly basis and away from the often-overwhelming city centre.
Soul Kitchen has recently introduced a football team to encourage people to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, as well as to become part of a team.
Their share of the £500 grant from Equilibrium will be used for the provision of kit, hire of training courts and to fund the cost of a minibus for transport to tournaments.
Helen Anthony, Vice Chair of Outside In, said: “We are so grateful to receive this kind donation from Equilibrium.
“The money will allow us to continue to train on a weekly basis and provide drinks and snacks to our team. We will also be able to travel to Liverpool later this month to take part in a tournament organised by Liverpool Homeless FC!”
Offset Chester will be using the grant to buy equipment such as backpacks, water bottles, walking socks, waterproof macs, first aid courses and kits, packed lunches, fuel/train/bus tickets, training courses and admin costs.
We are thrilled to announce that Equilibrium has once again been honoured with the prestigious Investors in Customers (IIC) Gold accreditation.
